App Development for VisionOS on the Apple Vision Pro
New App for Trade Shows and Events
Every year, Siemens Healthineers and we set new standards for digital experiences at trade shows. Our highlight at the Congress on Interventional Radiology (CIRSE): the Apple Vision Pro combined with our myNeedle app development in virtual reality. In the app, we visualized the workflow surrounding the use of the “myNeedle Companion” radiology software solution. A trade show experience that captures maximum attention while requiring minimal space. Fully managed by us—from concept and technical implementation to on-site support.
Complex Workflow – Made Tangible
Why display all the products at the booth? They all fit within the Apple Vision Pro. This is a major advantage when space is limited—and it allows us to convey complex workflows interactively and in an easy-to-understand way. Using our myNeedle app, trade show visitors virtually operated a CT scanner and were able to understand its software controls. They then used natural hand gestures to simulate the precise placement of a needle in a patient’s body. In this way, the Vision Pro proved to be a real asset: offering spatial independence, faster learning, and lower carbon emissions thanks to reduced transportation needs.
The product experience: incredibly tangible
Pressing play on a video is a thing of the past. This time, we turned the trade show visitors themselves into players—as part of an immersive live 3D experience in which they virtually inserted the needle into the patient. A realistic scenario that enhances the learning effect by creating a sense of being part of the action. The result: far more customer interactions at the booth—and an audience whose curiosity about Healthineers’ products and the Apple Vision Pro was thoroughly satisfied through this immersive experience.
From a trade show presentation to an educational revolution
With the Apple Vision Pro and our apps developed specifically for it, we’re revolutionizing not only the trade show experience but also the transfer of knowledge. Complex content is retained much more quickly through interactive and immersive visualizations – and education becomes independent of location and time of day.
In virtual training sessions, we provide 3D learning modules, interactive science simulations, and VR language training in a playful and easy-to-understand way. Using just one tool, all participants can switch between a wide variety of spaces and enter unique learning environments – via video, text, and images, point-and-click, and with real opportunities for action. In this way, we are pushing the boundaries of education further than ever before.
