Drum roll for German industry
How do you present a complex industrial product online so that prospects truly understand it before they even reach out? That was the exact question at the start of the relaunch for August Hildebrandt GmbH – self-described as Europe's largest full-range provider of wooden, plywood and steel drums, along with related equipment, for the cable, pipe and rope industries. The existing website no longer did the brand justice. Together with Lachs von Achtern, we therefore carried out a corporate website relaunch built on the CMS Contao – featuring an interactive 3D product visualization right in the browser and a newly conceived careers section.

A concept for a broad portfolio
The starting point was a question: how do you clearly present a technical, broad product portfolio – from wooden to steel drums, including the Hildebrandt Return reusable system – to an internationally active B2B audience? Our answer: a clear information architecture that guides users straight to the right product despite the range of topics, rather than making them work their way through technical data sheets.
Hands-on, without ever touching it
The centerpiece of the relaunch is the interactive 3D product visualization: based on CAD data, we developed animations and a web-3D module that lets users interact with the products directly in their browser. This comes to life especially on the wooden and steel drum pages – details, construction and dimensions can be rotated, zoomed and explored, rather than just read off a data sheet.
We implemented the entire project on Contao – from UI/UX design to integrating the 3D content into a CMS that brings content management and technical requirements together under one roof.

Careers that get found
Alongside the product visualization, the careers section was a second focus area: SEO-optimized job postings ensure that open positions at Hildebrandt are found in Google search – an important building block for the employer branding of an industrial company.
